BRIDGE LESSONS SYLLABUS

BEGINNING BRIDGE I

Players will learn the basics of beginning play in an easy and fun fashion.  How to count points in the hand,
the play of the hand and beginning defense.

BEGINNING BRIDGE II

How to find the Queen, fine points of hand evaluation, introduction to counting as declarer, when to draw trumps.  More on playing the hand, particularly defense.  Which suits to lead, defensive signals, choosing your opening lead, reconstructing declarer’s hand and concentration.

INTERMEDIATE BRIDGE

Purpose of bidding, Stayman, Jacoby Transfers, minor suit openings, major suit raises,
bidding over opponents strong 2 clubs, weak 2’s, preempts, play of the hand, defensive carding and leads.
