JOB DESCRIPTION -  LBA PRESIDENT

1.                  Oversee and direct all Unit 117 activities.

2.                  Function as club manager of unit-owned bridge club, Louisville Bridge Center, #195818.

3.                  Approve sanctions for downstate and other clubs to conduct special ACBL games.

4.                  Present all awards to unit individuals at appropriate tournaments.

5.                  Function as Unit Representative at District 11 Meetings.

6.                  Appoint chairmen for the following committees:

                        Bylaws

                        Conduct & Ethics Committee

                        Long Range Planning Committee

                        Oversight

                        Regionals

                       

7.                  Appoint members to fill the following positions:

                  Parliamentarian

                  Legal Counsel

                  Editor for the Kibitzer

                  Auditor

8.                  Assign the following tasks and any other tasks not listed that will contribute to the wellbeing of the LBA, to board members, or to others willing to serve according to their capabilities and desires:

                        Supplies

                        Maintenance

                        Membership Retention

                        Sympathy

                        Suggestion Box

                        Education

                        Special Games

                        Entertainment & Hospitality

                        Charity Game Organizer

                        Monitor Editor & Calendar

                        Public Relations

                        Concessions

                        Website

                        Database/E-mail      

9.                  Call and preside over at least four regular Board Meetings and one General Membership Meeting per year. Conduct mini-meetings if necessary.

10.             Renegotiate lease as necessary.

11.             Arrange for and supervise a cleaning service for the Bridge Center.

12.             Write Presidents message for Kibitzer.

13.             The President shall select a Nominating Committee consisting of a chairman and 4 additional members.  The chairman must be a board member.  At least 2 of the 4 additional members must be from the membership at large.

14.             Sign Checks as needed by the Treasurer.

15.             Appoint 4 tellers to count votes in the annual election.

16.             Appoint alternates to attend District Board meetings for President and Immediate Past President in the event they cannot attend.
