Minutes of the 2007 Annual Membership Meeting, November 13, 2007

Held at the Louisville Bridge Center



A quorum of members of the Louisville Bridge Association was present, including the following:


Board members and officers attending:

Susan Cox, Gail Slater, Kit Overpeck, Vangie Smith, A. Beth Reid, Karen Clear, Frank Nelson, Ted Flach, Jean Donoho, Joe Dye and Hannah Davis.


Board members and officers absent:

Marge Handley, Charlene Daniels, and Rex Swauger.



The annual Meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM by A. Beth Reid, President.


Beth thanked Hannah Davis, Pat London and their committee for their work on the Louisville/Lexington Regional held at Caesars in November. It is expected that both Lexington and Louisville clubs will benefit monetarily, although the final figures have not been released. New Life Masters from our club, achieving the status at the Regional tournament, were Frank Nelson and Gail Slater.


Frank Nelson presented the annual Treasurer’s Report which showed that assets are up $15,000. He pointed out that he is posting figures on the Bulletin Board. We are financially sound and doing well. We will begin charging a surcharge to help underwrite the 2011 National Tournament, being held in Louisville.


Beth presented new Life Master mugs to the following new Life Masters; Ron and Barbara Tommasini, Ted Flach, Shirley Mueller, Perry Moore and Cheryl Klein.


Beth thanked Karen Clear, Betty Paterson and Phyllis Costello for their work in tallying votes for the 2007 board. Our new board members elected to a two year term are Hannah Davis, Ted Flach, JoEllen Amrine and Ellen Schmidt. Betsy Blakeman was elected to represent the downstate members. Elizabeth Rosenberg was elected to a one-year term. Jean Donoho was elected as President, Gail Slater as Vice President, Frank Nelson as Treasurer, Vangie Smith as Secretary and Susan Cox as Historian.


There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20.
