Minutes of the 2008 Annual Membership Meeting, November 11, 2008

Held at the Louisville Bridge Center

A quorum of members of the Louisville Bridge Association was present, including the following:

Board members and officers attending:

Kit Overpeck, Vangie Smith, Joe Dye, Karen Clear, Hannah Davis, Frank Nelson, Ted Flach and Elizabeth Rosenberg.

Board members and officers absent:

Susan Cox, Jean Donoho, Charlene Daniels, Betsy Blakeman, Ellen Schmidt, JoEllen Amrine, Rex Swauger.

The annual Meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM by Vangie Smith..

Vangie asked Hannah Davis for a brief report on the Regional Tournament in November. Hannah reported that the numbers were down considerably, but that it had been a good tournament.

Frank Nelson presented the annual Treasurer’s Report which showed that net income was down due to the purchase of our new chairs. We are financially sound and doing well. We will continue charging a surcharge to help underwrite the 2011 National Tournament, being held in Louisville.

Vangie congratulated the following new Life Masters; Ken Gustafson, Tinker Zimmerman and Steve Blank.

Vangie thanked Karen Clear, Betty Paterson and Phyllis Costello for their work in tallying votes for the 2008 board. Our new board members elected to a two year term are Joe Dye, Sandy Spears, Rex Swauger, and Diane Huguenard.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:17.
